The Karanambu Trust
Slide Show: Trust House Renovation

Thanks to the 2011 WWF-Guianas grant, the Trust House at Karanambu was renovated so it can begin to serve as a regional center for research and training in the North Rupununi. Specifically, the grant objective was to: Improve the logistics and research facilities at Karanambu so the Trust can better support the activities of visiting scientists and educators in the future, and so it can serve as a local training center for research and outreach. Toward this end, funds were used to purchase a boat, boat engine, and vehicle for the Trust, and to renovate the Trust House to accommodate visiting researchers and students so they can stay independent of the Lodge. The renovations included a finished office, improved Internet capacity, a secure storage area (for equipment), additional shower and toilet facilities, a full kitchen, and roof repairs.
